The course is delivered via self paced learning (correspondence) however, this is an industry training course that will require your dedication and commitment to finish. We believe that all students should be able to complete the diploma within 12 months and if necessary we can provide students with a training
schedule to assist them in achieving this goal.
Along with written assignments, case studies and formal
knowledge tests you will be required to undertake practical survey tasks. To undertake these you will be required to organise your own access to a vessel (between 7 and 35 metres in
length).
The International Diploma of Commercial Marine Surveying™ meets some of the requirements for marine surveyor accreditation through AMSA but they also have other conditions that you need to meet that include experience as a surveyor and or a seafarer. To become AMSA accredited you will also need to hold PI insurance and provide evidence of your ability to effectively manage your business operations.
The Diploma is best suited to current practicing marine surveyors and Maritime professionals such as Engineers, Naval Architects, and Master Mariners of all classes. The course is also open to Shipwrights, Electricians and specialised maritime trade persons.
